On Thursday, 4th July 2024, the Roundtable meeting of the ARCASIA Committee of Green and Sustainable Architecture (ACGSA) on ‘Integration of AI in Architecture for Carbon Neutrality’ was held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC), Malaysia.
A significant presentation was delivered by Ar. Sujaul Islam Khan, Secretary of Urbanization and Environment and Country Representative of the Institute of Architects Bangladesh (IAB). His presentation, titled “Integration of AI in Architecture for Carbon Neutrality, aligning with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG),” explored the transformative potential of AI in achieving sustainable architectural practices and fostering a greener future.
Fellow Ar. Qazi Muhammad Arif, Past Chair of ACGSA, attended the roundtable and remarked, “This topic will be of prime attention and challenge for the next generation. There is a lot to take home from this fruitful meeting.” Among the attendees was Chairman ACGSA, Ar. Alice Leong Pek Lian, Past Chairpersons Ar. Debatosh Sahu, Ar. Tushar Sogani, Ar. Alice Cheong, and Ar. Acharawan Chutarat), Ar. Qazi Muhammad Arif. The meeting was attended by representatives from 16 member nations from Asia.
The event highlighted the importance of integrating AI in architecture to meet sustainability goals and address environmental challenges.
