The Commonwealth Association of Architects (CAA) invites you to a 90-minute online event exploring the critical role of Natural Building Materials in creating a sustainable built environment. With the buildings and construction sector accounting for a significant portion of global energy demand and CO2 emissions, it’s crucial to decarbonize this sector by 2050.
Event Objective:
Discuss how the intelligent use of natural building materials can help us meet our climate objectives, particularly with 70% of Africa’s building stock yet to be constructed by 2040. We’ll explore the benefits, challenges, and practical issues such as affordability, training, and regulatory barriers.
