The Institute of Architects Bangladesh (IAB) proudly nominated its Fellow, Ar. Qazi M. Arif to contest the UIA Elections 2026 for the prestigious position of Council Member, Region IV. The election was held on 4 July during the XXX General Assembly in Barcelona, following the World Congress of Architects 2026, and featured distinguished candidates from the UAE, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Chinese Taipei, and Bangladesh.
IAB is delighted and immensely proud to announce that Ar. Qazi M. Arif emerged victorious, securing the 2nd position with an impressive 195 votes (71.34%). This remarkable achievement is a moment of great pride and honor for both IAB and Bangladesh on the international stage. The XXX General Assembly in Barcelona was attended by an official delegation from Bangladesh, which included Ar. Mahfuzul Haq Zaglul, Vice President (International Relations) of IAB (as Head of the delegation); Prof. Dr. Masud Ur Rashid, General Secretary of IAB; Ar. Ishtiaque Zahir Titas, Past Vice President (International Relations) of IAB and Ex Vice President of UIA; and Ar. Qazi M. Arif himself, the Past General Secretary of IAB.
