An official delegation from the Institute of Architects Bangladesh (IAB) represented the nation at the XXX General Assembly of the International Union of Architects (UIA), held from 2 to 5 July 2026 in Barcelona, Spain. Following the conclusion of the World Congress of Architects 2026, the delegation actively participated throughout the global assembly, marking a strong and impactful presence for Bangladesh on the international architectural stage.
The official delegation from Bangladesh comprised prominent leaders and policymakers of the profession, including Ar. Mahfuzul Haq Zaglul, Vice President (International Relations) of IAB (as head of the delegation); Prof. Dr. Masud Ur Rashid, General Secretary of IAB; Ar. Ishtiaque Zahir Titas, Past Vice President (International Relations) of IAB and Ex Vice President of UIA; and Ar. Qazi M. Arif, Past General Secretary of IAB. The presence of these delegates ensured Bangladesh’s active voice in global architectural policies, international collaborations, and the historic UIA regional election proceedings. Through their dynamic participation and leadership, the delegation successfully highlighted Bangladesh’s growing influence, commitment, and visionary perspective within the global community of architects.
