Seminar on ” Italian Design Day 2026″

Yesterday, the much-anticipated lecture session titled “Regenerating Spaces, Objects, Ideas, Relations” by renowned Italian architect Fabio Novembre was successfully held at the Multipurpose Hall of the Institute of Architects Bangladesh (IAB).
Organized on the occasion of Italian Design Day 2026, the session marked a significant moment for the architectural community in Bangladesh. As the Italian Design Ambassador, Fabio Novembre’s presence enriched the discourse on contemporary architecture and design.
The program commenced with welcome remarks by Abu Sayeed M Ahmed, President of IAB. Ahammed Sohel Manjur, Honorable State Minister for Housing & Public Works, attended as the Chief Guest. Special remarks were delivered by H.E. Antonio Alessandro and Md. Asifur Rahman Bhuiyan, Chief Architect, Department of Architecture, Government of Bangladesh.
In his lecture, Fabio Novembre presented a compelling overview of his works and design philosophy, articulating architecture not merely as functional space, but as a powerful medium of emotion, identity, and narrative. His notable works include the AC Milan Flagship Store, retail interiors for Stuart Weitzman and La Perla, and the iconic Him & Her Chair—demonstrating an innovative exploration of the human form in design.
The session remained engaging throughout, with a vibrant, story-driven presentation that captivated the audience. A full house at the venue reflected the strong enthusiasm and participation from attendees.
The program concluded with an interactive Q&A session moderated by Ar. Mahmudul Anwar Riyaad, making the discussion both lively and insightful.
The event was organized by the Institute of Architects Bangladesh in association with the Embassy of Italy in Dhaka, and was sponsored by Italiano Marble & Granite.
