A lengthy discussion was held regarding mutual cooperation on the inclusion of urban designers in UDD projects. The UDD has agreed to support the IAB in preparing an updated heritage list for the Dhaka Metropolitan Area, as defined in the Detailed Area Plan (DAP). This will be achieved by mapping all proposed listed monuments on a GIS platform. Consequently, RAJUK will be able to implement development controls around these heritage buildings in Dhaka.
Mr. Ali also expressed his willingness to provide UDD data and project information to support urban design studios at all universities.
