Conference Theme

Rethinking Architectural Education for Future Practice

Architectural education is at a turning point, facing rapid technological change, climate challenges, and shifting societal needs. This theme invites a critical re-examination of how architects are trained to meet the demands of future practice — bridging academia and professional practice, embracing digital and hybrid learning, and embedding sustainability, ethics, and resilience into curricula.

By fostering dialogue across cultures and disciplines, the conference seeks to envision architectural education as a dynamic, adaptive system — one that equips future architects with the skills, values, and imagination to thrive in a complex, globalized world.

Presentations may be delivered in person or online. The event is structured as a one-day hybrid symposium.

Sub-themes

Authors are invited to submit abstracts under any of the following thematic tracks:

TECHNOLOGY & INNOVATION

Emerging digital tools, BIM, VR/AR, parametric design, and AI reshaping architectural pedagogy. Flexible LMS models, assessment methodologies, and innovative approaches to accessibility.

PEDAGOGY & CURRICULUM

Reform and decolonization of curricula. South–South contextualization, indigenous knowledge systems, ethics, human-centric design, inclusive learning, and student well-being.

SOCIETY & ENVIRONMENT

Climate-conscious education, sustainable cities, social responsibility, and environmental ethics in architectural training programs.

PROFESSIONAL INTEGRATION & POLICY

Strengthening collaborations between universities, professional bodies, and accreditation bodies. Lifelong professional development and career-ready graduates.
